Grasshopper

Grasshopper

While at the zoo earlier this week, I got distracted from all the beautiful, exotic animals by this grasshopper that was hanging out in the morning light on the glass in front of the Hippo.  I hadn’t ever really taken a look at a grasshopper before, but I was fascinated by the solid, intricate structure of his body and the purposeful way that he moved. One day, I’ll paint a menacing, indestructible alien, and I’ll use this photo as my guide.
