Rough Surf at Bean Point

Bean Point

Last week, when my sister Anissa was down visiting, I took her and my niece out to Bean Point on Anna Maria Island.  It was a crazy, stormy day, but we found this perfect two hour window where the beach was cleared out and the rain had stopped.  It wasn’t too hot, and the ocean was so warm and relaxing. However, an army of tiny fish were all turned around in the water and kept pelting us and a a manatee submerged about 3 feet away and scared the bejesus out of us, but it was a great time.

Lately, I’ve been wanting to learn more about taking portraits, and my niece Hailey is at the perfect age.  Adults complain too much about how they look, and older kids are too accustomed to posing. Hailey never paid any attention to the camera, and I was able to get some great, natural shots of her.
