New York City: Sunny Friday in the City

Some genius (me) thought it would be a good idea to take a 6am flight to New York to maximize the time. However, they forgot to figure in that for a flight leaving at 6, you would need to wake up at around 3am. I was pretty angry at myself this morning until I arrived in Manhattan and was gifted with sunshine and super blue skies.

I did get stuck in traffic trying to get into the city. My cab driver was extremely chatty, and we discussed the politics of Uber and cabs and traffic. I’ll never shy away from an interesting conversation and the chance to see life from someone else’s perspective.

While meandering in the Village, I stumbled across Jefferson Market Garden and instantly fell in love.

Mostly, I spent a beautiful Friday just kicking about in Manhattan. I enjoyed the blue skies and sunshine from Bryant Park, finally saw the Hotel Chelsea (it was under construction), walked the High Line, had an amazing grilled cheese sandwich at Chelsea Market, wandered around the streets of Greenwich Village looking for cool places (aka looked for Bob Dylan places), sat in the fountain at Washington Square Park and watched the new NYU grads celebrating, checked out the vinyl, books, and stickers at Strand, and had the most delicious apple cider at Union Square Market.
