So… Crazy Thing

This morning, I was putting on my jewelry (aka stalling and contemplating reasons to not fully face this rainy Monday), when I took a closer look at a postcard hanging on my wall. Years ago (like 20, I’m so damn old), I bought it at a museum in Washington DC. I loved it so much, it has been hanging in my bedroom ever since.

For some reason, I leaned in and studied it this morning. I about fell over… something looked familiar.

It is my EXACT view from my hotel room in Paris. Like, was he on that same balcony as me painting that scene? I didn’t plan it. Someone suggested the hotel to me, and then when I arrived, I was upgrade to a suite with this huge balcony. I have literally seen this view for twenty years.

I wanted to learn more, so I zoomed in on the artist’s name… and it gets more interesting. I was at the Musée d’Orsay a few days before. While walking through, I was blown away by a painter that I didn’t know much about. His work was just so vibrant and beautiful, so I took a photo of his name so I wouldn’t forget to look him up when I got home.

Yep. Camille Pissarro. The same guy as the postcard. Apparently, I was familiar with some of his work. ☺️

I’ve said it before, but seriously, Paris is magic.
