Nikon 3400 Garden Trial

Nikon D3400 in My Garden

Confession time. I have a weakness for Amazon Prime Day. I love finding interesting deals and buying things that I really don’t need. Ahem, like a  pasta-making attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer. This year, I found a great deal on a Nikon D3400 camera (from Amazon).

While I have plenty of cameras, all of mine are Canons. I was curious about the differences between my Cannons and a Nikon camera. This Nikon DSLR is entry-level, but I grabbed it anyway.  The first thing I noticed was that the Nikon D3400 camera body is extremely light, which makes it an instant contender for travel.

Sunday evening in-between rainstorms, I took the camera out into my waterlogged garden. It was cloudy and gray, but I snapped some shots of the succulents and herbs. I love the rich colors, the depth of the dark areas, and the beautiful creamy backgrounds. I’m very glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and tried this camera.

I wouldn’t give up my Canon, but you might catch me with a Canon and Nikon on each hip while snapping photos with an iPhone.
